Transition from Elementary to Middle School

For information about transitioning from middle school to high school, please click here.

On Monday, January 25, 2021, 5th grade students will begin planning their transition to middle school. We want to make each student’s transition as smooth as possible.

5th grade students will learn more about opportunities awaiting them in middle school, and then work with their principal and teachers to complete a Google Form to indicate their individual  class preferences for 6th grade. Students will bring home a course verification form for parents/guardians to review over the next few weeks. Parents/guardians will be able to make comments and/or request changes.  All course verification forms will be due back to the elementary campus no later than Wednesday, February 3, 2021.  (Our Curriculum and Instruction Elementary team will work with our Digital Support Teachers to complete this process with our current Virtual Academy students via Zoom.)

"Welcome to Lone Star Middle School" Presentation- This presentation contains helpful information regarding core classes, Pre-AP courses, and electives.

Course Catalog

Our middle school course catalog gives parents and students an overview of all the available courses that students can take in middle school. This course catalog will help parents and students make choices about courses they may choose in middle school.  6th grade students will select 2 elective courses.
